Ryan Adams’ 1989 To Compete With Taylor Swift’s 1989 For Album of The Year at Grammys

Ryan Adams’ highly-rated cover of Taylor Swift’s 1989 album is technically eligible to contend for Album of the Year at the 58th Grammy Awards in 2016 according Mashable. The album met the deadline of being released before September 30, and also is classified as a ‘new recording’.

Ryan Adams’ 1989 obviously won’t be eligible in any song-writing categories, however it will still make great competition against Taylor Swift’s original. It should be noted that Taylor Swift co-wrote every song on 1989. Taylor Swift has been highly supportive and has been strongly advocating of Ryan Adams’ cover album when he started promoting and through to the release as well.

It will interesting to see how the Grammys play out. Who do you think did it better?
