With everyone excited in anticipation for “All Eyez On Me”, the Tupac Shakur biopic, it only makes sense to expect something from the Biggie end of the spectrum as well. And according the The Hollywood Reporter, a documentary about the life of rapper Notorious B.I.G. has officially been authorized. This differs from previous attempts of a Biggie biopic as this time around it’ll be produced together with Biggie’s mother, Voletta Wallace and will receive support from the Biggie estate in hope that it’ll provide a very accurate depiction of the late rapper’s life.
Voletta Wallace released a statement saying:
“It brings so much joy to my heart that my son Christopher’s music has made such an impact on the music community and his stories have positively inspired so many young men and women over the years and still influencing the youth all over the world today.”
The documentary is being made by renowned film maker brothers Emmett and Brendan Malloy. A release date for the documentary is unknown at this stage, stage tuned for more updates.
