The AFC is a much stronger conference, so let’s start out with the AFC East featuring the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and the New York Jets. Even if Tom Brady is suspended that won’t affect the Patriots from winning the division. They will however get beat up by the likes of the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills, two teams that tend to play them well. Unfortunately those two teams will have up and down records, along with the Miami Dolphins even with their acquisition of Ndamukong Suh. There is a big hoopla over the DT’s arrival in Miami, but if memory serves he was just as explosive in Detroit with a much more talented team. Those Lions gained nothing from his performance, and continue to be nothing. In the end New England runs away with the division after getting beat up a little beat through the season.
The AFC West is an interesting bunch starring the Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders and the San Diego Chargers. The only dud in this division is the Raiders, who won’t even get past the .500 mark all season. The Chiefs and the Chargers are two talented teams that can beat the division best Broncos on any day of the week. The only problem is that they lack consistency, but this could possibly be the year of the Chargers. Philip Rivers won’t win his team the division, but look for them to make the playoffs and some noise along with it. The Peyton Manning led Broncos will be their usual well-oiled selves, leading them to a division win and another early playoff exit.

In the AFC North there are a couple of studs with the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers and Ravens are prime targets to not only make the playoffs, but to meet each other later on for a spot in the Super Bowl. Cleveland is expected to be much better this year, and if Johnny Football ends up getting a start there may be a chance that a lot of people in the state will be confused with who they want starting. He has been a huge disappointment, but has made a great change in his behavior towards the game. Big Ben and Joe Flacco are still premier quarterbacks in not only the division, but the league. Cincinnati has just as much talent as any team in the division, but last year showed everyone that they still don’t know how to play together. Pittsburgh will win the division, and don’t be surprised if they have to fight the Bengals for it.
In the AFC South it looks like some of the lesser rejects of the NFC, and is comprised of the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans. The Titans, Jaguars and Texans are just horrible, and have no redeemable qualities whatsoever as a football team. Although major sports outlets will show highlights of J.J. Watts doing something incredible during a losing effort, the Colts still don’t have any challenge at all in this division. Superstar QB Andrew Luck will continue to improve as a player, and hopefully get some much needed revenge against the Patriots in a possible repeat playoff match. The receiving core of the Colts remains tight and well trained, even with the loss of Reggie Wayne. They will win the AFC south division outright without any challenge at all from the other teams.
